Upat S.A. (Pty) Ltd, a 100% South African owned business, commenced trading in 1983 as the sole Southern African distributor of the Upat range of construction fasteners (anchor bolts, chemical anchors, nylon plugs etc.)

At the outset, Upat S.A. (Pty) Ltd was committed to the building industry with not only a range of anchor bolts but rotary hammer drilling machines, tungsten tipped masonry drill bits, powder actuated tools and allied building and construction products.

The aim was to supply a range of top quality products at market related prices. This philosophy resulted in Upat S.A. (Pty) Ltd, within ten years of commencing business, becoming one of the market leaders in the industry in Southern Africa.
Building Our Business

In 1992, the world-leader in fixing and fastening solutions, fischer, also of Germany, purchased Upat GmbH and Co. and commenced with the integration of the fischer and Upat product ranges. This full and final integration was realised in 2003 and since then Upat S.A. (Pty) Ltd has been supplying the fischer range of products.

Today, Upat officially represents several International companies in Southern Africa. Such as: STABILA market leader in spirit levels, measuring equipment and latterly construction lasers; Eibenstock German Engineered diamond coring and associated products; Starmix specialised vacuum cleaners for industrial use and Milwaukee, leaders in portable heavy-duty power tools for the professional user.

As the business grew, Upat S.A. (Pty) Ltd opened branches in the following centres : Johannesburg Head Office, Pretoria, Nelspruit, Durban, Cape Town, with distributors in Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein, Kimberley, Polokwane and George. Additionally, exports are done to Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Swaziland, Mauritius, Kenya and Tanzania.

The head office in Johannesburg is in its' own building of five stories, including a basement/factory level and the company occupies 4500 square metres in total.

In-House Training: All internal technical staff engage in thorough and regular training on all new and existing company products and services.

Tool Repairs: Qualified technicians are able to repair all tools from the current product range.

Warranty: All power tools come with a full service warranty valid for one year from date of purchase.
