Bumatech is a leading supplier of additives to the Metallurgical Industry in South Africa. We are situated in Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng. Our biggest client is Arcelor Mittal.

Bumatech’s main product line is slag conditioners, also known as fluxes, for Basic Oxygen Furnaces and Electric Arc Furnaces. Bumatech supplies the Basic Oxygen Furnaces and Electric Arc furnaces at Vanderbijlpark Steel, the largest of the Arcelor Mittal group in South Africa.

Bumatech prides itself in its innovative thinking and high quality products. Through this innovative thinking Bumatech has been able to produce products of over 90% Alumina (Al2O3) and with Silica (SiO2) lower than 2%. Because of this ability to produce a High Alumina Product with Low Silica Bumatech is able to add Magnesite or Burnt Dolomite to its products producing a product with a high enough Alumina for Fluxing and Magnesia to preserve lining of Furnaces and ladles.

Bumatech’s raw materials consist mainly of By-products which are further processed to produce the products as listed below. This allows Bumatech to produce products unequalled in the market at highly competitive prices.
