Diane du Plessis is an independent consultant who offers Geographic Information System (GIS) and Data Management consulting services to the exploration, mining, environmental and political risk management industry. This includes tailor-made spatial and database solutions for the mineral industry, ranging from junior explorers to major commodity producers.
Diane’s expertise is backed by 20 years’ experience in GIS and Data Management in both mining and mineral exploration. She has extensive knowledge of the African continent, working on projects in Ghana, Mali, Cote d’Ivoire, Tanzania, DRC, Namibia, Niger, Guinea, Gabon, Liberia, Nigeria, Zambia, Cameroon, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique and Congo (Brazzaville).
Diane has received PLATO (South African Council for Professional and Technical Surveyors) accreditation as a Professional GISc Practitioner, is the official ESRI® ArcGIS Mining Geoscience trainer for Africa and lectures for AusAid (Australian Agency for International Development funded) Short Course, GIS in the Mining industry, jointly offered by Wits and James Cook University
